Are you searching for a promising management institute in Rajasthan that caters to your specific requirements?
Jaipur is one city that has some prominent names in imparting management programs – PGDM / MBA.
Every institute or college imparting management courses is unique and have their own set of USPs or offerings that differentiates them from the rest. So, making a choice of a particular institute depends on your own aspirations and how well these match with the institute offerings. Every aspirant has certain criteria in mind when they go searching. Now the question arises, what are or should be these criteria?
Are you short-listing institutes only on the basis of placement records they are show casing? If yes, it could be a trap!
Are you choosing an institute only on the basis of the fancy infrastructure they have? If yes, it will again not be sensible as it is not the infrastructure of a place that you carry with you after completion of the program.
Are you going for an institute that offers many certifications during the course of the program? It is only to lure and in most cases nothing more than marketing gimmick!
If your criteria to finalize your college on the basis of Ranking?
You Know the ranking game in India. Rankings, in most cases can be bought!
And so on...
Most institutes show that their students got high packages. These claims must be verified also. It is not unusual for management graduates to get big offers but the claims must be confirmed. Try to understand if the students are repeatedly getting placed in the same company year on year or the placements are taking place across sectors.
Providing multiple certificates has become a norm. Most of the certificate programs are available online also and thus in no way provide an added advantage to the management graduate. You have to understand the value of certification and the resources engaged. If the program is comprehensive and is taken up by specialists in that field then it is worth it. Also, the certifications must compliment your specializations else it depicts lack of clarity on the part of the student.
What to do then? Has this all led to more confusion? Let us try to address this issue...
I will not provide any merit list of institutes here. That will not be fair. Also, I would suggest that do not bank upon such lists. An institute can go up or down on rankings merely by spending money on online promotions or refraining from it or by paying a handsome fee to some print media platform.
To make it simple:
Choose an institute that caters to your specific requirements closely. For example, you want to specialize in Business Analytics then see which all institutes are offering a major in this subject, what resources they are engaging? How are they planning placements in this domain? This way the list of options will keep getting shorter.
You can also consider other criteria apart from the specialization like, beudget, location, corporate exposure provided, experiential learning initiatives etc. Also, evaluate the program on the basis of:
Institutes and Colleges are not the placement agencies, and there is no shortcut to hard work. You do PGDM / MBA to enhance your skills, knowledge, personality, and capacity. If these traits will develop, you will be placed. If you get placement without proper training, you may be fired after some time and that will be more painful.
The conclusion is that you have to find the best and suitable option yourself. Do not go by hearsay. If you know what you want, you will get it. Otherwise, everyone will give you biased suggestions. Finally, follow the checklist provided above.
All the best!
